The show will not proceed with a second season.
April 9, 2013
It is being reported that MTV has cancelled reality series Buckwild following the death of one of its stars, Shain Gandee, who passed away earlier this month from carbon monoxide poisoning while off-roading.
The show, which premiered in January of this year, had a strong debut run and was quickly renewed by the network for a second season. Production was already underway prior to Gandee's untimely death, and while production was immediately suspended, the decision to completely cancel show was not known until now.

Such a pity, I thought such shows like this and jersey shore which encourages stupidity would loved if some of their stars died doing stupid things. After all they already got one girl in it selling arrested for selling drugs another for being in some sex tape.

Best news today, the show was pointless if you can even call it a show. An insult to Virginia and MTV sould be ashamed of themselves for ever airing this crap.

He was a distant relative of my husband and a shame he dies so young. The show was one of my daughters favorites, probably because she is in the same age bracket. They also enjoy mudding too. I am sorry for the family but glad exploitive show was cancelled...

I second that Al. A shame about the guy but I am glad that MTV has decided not to capitalize on it.
