The firefighter drama will return for a second season.

NBC announced today that it has renewed Chicago Fire for a second season. The network ordered 22 new episodes of the freshman drama for 2013-2014.
Along with Chicago Fire, the network also renewed four other dramas today for next season including Parenthood, Revolution, Grimm, and Law & Order: SVU.
UPDATE: Season 2 of Chicago Fire will premiere on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10:00pm.

Finally, after many shows of its kind being cancelled (although they were slightly better and less cheesy than this one) this show is mot being cancelled. I'm seriously shocked and pleasantly surprised

YES....! So happy happy! After McSteamy got killed off on ABC Grey's, Severide has now taken his place!!! Myself along with many other ladies would agree he's the eye candy we look forward to seeing each week. Keep the great story line going though and this show should go far.

This is great news my husband will be pleased, that one of his shows is returning. He always seems to like the ones that get dumped!
