NBC announced Monday that Chicago Fire has been renewed for a fifth season. The veteran drama was picked up for 2016-2017 along with spin-off Chicago PD, which will be returning for its fourth season.
A second spin-off to the Chicago franchise is on the way as well, with Chicago Med set to premiere next week.

I watched like 1 or 2 episodes when it came out and figured it would be canceled because of production costs or something... Didn't start to watch it again until there was some cross overs

Love this show!!! I love how they tie in SVU & Chicago PD as well. I'll also watch Chicago Med too most likely lol
