NBC announced today that Chicago Fire has been picked up for Season 12. The news comes with four episodes remaining in the drama's eleventh season. The original entry in the 'Chicago' franchise continues to be a strong performer in the network's primetime lineup.

On the air since 2012, Chicago Fire is NBC's third-longest-running drama currently on the air. Its success paved the way for three spin-offs over the years, and while 2017's 'Chicago Justice' lasted just one season, 'Chicago P.D.' and 'Chicago Med' have remained strong.

Chicago Fire follows the courageous men and women at Firehouse 51, home to noble firefighters and paramedics who look fear in the eye and forge headfirst into dangerous situations in order to help those in need. The series will surpass the 250-episode mark during its 12th season.

NBC renewed the entire 'One Chicago' lineup today, ensuring all three shows in the franchise - Fire, Med and P.D. - will be returning for the 2023-2024 television season this fall.
