April 26, 2013
NBC announced today that it has renewed breakout hit Revolution for a second season. The peacock network ordered a full 22 episodes of the freshman series for 2013-2014 after an impressive debut run that has seen it become this season's top-rated drama on the big four networks.
Along with Revolution, NBC also renewed four other dramas today for next season including Parenthood, Law & Order: SVU, Grimm, and Chicago Fire.
UPDATE: Season 2 of Revolution will premiere on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 8:00pm.

I gave up after four shows. The premise really interested me. I had high hopes for it, but the lead actress is unbearable. She grates on my nerves, and is the reason I stopped watching the show. I don't know what is more annoying, the actress or the way they write the character. I am not surprised at the renewal, though. A lot of people I know just love this show.

The show is bad. It gets lost somewhere between science fiction and hypothetical future reality. It tries to be both, but is neither. @Revels - you say that you like the idea that it could become a reality one day... but it cannot. It is simply impossible, which is the real problem with the show. There isn't enough of an alternate reality for it to be sci-fi, but it isn't realistic enough for it to be a possible future.
The more recent ratings have shown that viewers have either lost interest or just didn't realize that the show is back on... I really hope that NBC moves onto something else.

I saw the first episode and never watched it again just like Defiance. I don't like revenge or survival shows.

I really like this show, esp the possibility of it becoming a reality one day. However, they need to get the story line going more. It's lacking something, even though I do see potential for this series. I wish them luck.

BensonFray, I was referencing TBBT S06, Ep.21
The Closure Alternative....Sheldon learns his favorite TV show, Alphas, has been canceled after two seasons. What's inconceivable about the situation is that the second season ended on a cliffhanger, meaning that he will never learn what happened after that. Amy believes that Sheldon's issue is that his compulsive self needs closure(IMDB). At the end Leonard pokes fun at geeks and himself who watch the SciFi network. Anyway and as always a funny TBBT episode.

YUCK! Chicago Fire? REALLY?! What a dumb, predictable show! Freakin stupid. I don't understand how stupid shows like Chicago Fire make it, but other good shows just get dumped.

I would not consider this show Sci-Fi, and it's horrible! How many good REAL Sci-Fi shows have bit the dust, and this horrible thing keeps going.

@Yup.. on Monday.... Bates Motel, The Following, Rectify. In addition, in today's DVR and on demand era there's no such thing as having to view any particular television show on any particular night of the week. Revolution will continue to have episodes which are over-the-top ridiculous in order to retain viewers. When the writers run out of all the wild inconsistent plot craziness, the show will start repeating itself ad nausium. Perhaps then NBC will catch on. Look at the ratings for the show and see how they have STEADILY declined. They aren't going to improve.

I tend to agree with the nay sayers. I was really excited about this show then by the second episode I started watching them on my iPhone. Not worth quality TV time. The acting IS horrible. The lead is not all that attractive. It does seem to be going nowhere fast. I also don't find myself caring what happens next. Everytime the lead girl bosses around her uncle I throw up a little.
