The troubled musical series will not return.
May 10, 2013
NBC has cancelled Smash after two seasons. The musical drama has had its share of troubles since premiering as a mid-season replacement in February 2012. Shortly after being picked up for a second season, showrunner Theresa Rebeck announced that she would be stepping down at Season 1's end. After ratings for Season 2 plummeted, the network moved Smash to Saturday nights to burn off the remainder of its episodes.
The series finale of Smash will air on May 26, 2013.

NBC.... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?????????.... Every time you get a good show rolling, you cancel it. Then you wonder why you're losing viewers?? Maybe it's because no one trusts you to keep the show they've invested themselves into ON THE AIR!!!!!... RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!

It's ridiculous that Smash is being canceled. NBC itself is a rich network, owned by Comcast who makes millions with their services. Explain to me the need to be so selfish and greedy. So what if the show isn't doing as well as the exec expect, they really can't take a loss in order to make they're viewers and Comcast customers happy. Let's make a trade, a dumn "reality" tv show for smash, a show that brings theater to life and brings music and happiness into thousands of their viewers life.

You have GOT to be kidding!!! I cannot believe that 14 million reality shows (that cause me to lose brain cells if I get stuck watching them) just continue on, while a show like Smash, with incredible songs, writing, singing, acting, storylines, etc., not to mention the constant ability to make me smile, to sometimes cry, and to always be waiting with bated breath for the next week's show, are cancelled. This has got to be the dumbest, most unreasonable cancellation in NBC's history.
I mean, for the love of Pete, is NO ONE paying attention to DVR numbers? Nobody watches anything live anymore (with the possible exception of athletic events and singing contests) and that's only because they know if they don't, there'll be some kind of spoiler before they do! My son is the only person I know who actually watches shows live, and that's only because he doesn't have a DVR, so he literally has no choice!
So please, if NBC's too stupid to figure out the right time slot, or look at DVR/Hulu numbers, will someone...ANYONE...else please pick this amazing show up and show NBC what they missed??!! PLEASE???

Our pleas and cries and continued requests to
NOT cancel SMASH obviously fell on deaf
Ears. It's really a shame That NBC did
Nothing more to promote it but move it to a
Dead zone (Saturday night). I'll guess I'll have
To take my viewership to ABC to watch Nashville
The only show that comes close in comparison
With drama/music. Tired of the talent
Shows. Hope another network picks
It up

This is an amazing show, I live in England and absolutely love it. Why don't NBC take into consideration the oversea viewers that have to watch it on the internet because we cannot wait for it to be aired in our country. I hope another network renews it
