The troubled musical series will not return.
May 10, 2013
NBC has cancelled Smash after two seasons. The musical drama has had its share of troubles since premiering as a mid-season replacement in February 2012. Shortly after being picked up for a second season, showrunner Theresa Rebeck announced that she would be stepping down at Season 1's end. After ratings for Season 2 plummeted, the network moved Smash to Saturday nights to burn off the remainder of its episodes.
The series finale of Smash will air on May 26, 2013.

I am so dissapointed. I absolutely loved this show. It is the only reason my channel even turned to NBC. I hate to see it go!

They're doing America a favor by cancelling this show. They're saving them from having to look at Angelica Houston's face.

Was so disappointed that Smash was cancelled, looked forward to watching every week. NBC, please re-consider. Hate reality shows!!!!

I only watched cuz of Kat McPhee. Season 2 was a trainwreck. Nice try for a unique show that hasn't been done a million times like cop shows, doctor shows, etc. But it just didn't work. :(

Season one was better than two, but even season two was better than most anything else on NBC. Rock Center, an intelligent news magazine, is also gone. As I am not a fan of The Voice and can't stand Donald Trump, they may as well cancel the whole stupid NBC network.

Just in time for Katharine McPhee to play Wonder Woman!

More evidence of the dumbing down of America. Anything that barely reflects intelligent smart creativity is doomed.

Well, I guess NBC is a non-channel. No Smash and no Leno. NBC is a channel I will no longer be watching. That's that!
