The troubled musical series will not return.
May 10, 2013
NBC has cancelled Smash after two seasons. The musical drama has had its share of troubles since premiering as a mid-season replacement in February 2012. Shortly after being picked up for a second season, showrunner Theresa Rebeck announced that she would be stepping down at Season 1's end. After ratings for Season 2 plummeted, the network moved Smash to Saturday nights to burn off the remainder of its episodes.
The series finale of Smash will air on May 26, 2013.

[spoilers] We're at episode-number-what, a second major fake musical has been added to the show, and they're just now getting around to suggesting that those musicals are successful? I think people wanted to see a show about a smash hit.

If you don't watch Glee, why would you want it cancelled?

Really going to miss Jack Davenport. He single-handedly made this show worth watching. The rest of the show's cast was mediocre to decent, with one or two being outright irritating as all get-out lol.
