The special effects competition will return in the new year.
October 21, 2013
Syfy announced today that Face Off has been renewed for a sixth season, which is slated to premiere in January 2014. With Season 5 set to conclude on November 5, fans of the special-effects competition won't have to wait long between seasons.
On top of the show's regular episodes, two new stand-alone specials have also been announced for November. Naked and Painted will air on November 12 at 9:00pm, and Top 20 Countdown: Judges Favorites airs a week later on November 19 at 9:00pm.

Love this show! The amount of talent it takes to pull off some of those creations is really impressive. Each week someone is bound to make a spitting of my mother-in-law. Oohh.... Scary!

Face Off has one thing over other "competition" show... it doesn't focus on inter-contestant drama. It focuses on the artwork/make up. Although I think a 50 year old "goth" (Glenn Hetrick [sp]) as a judge is pretty comical, the show continues to push contestants into new areas and new ideas are always present.
