The singing competition is axed after three seasons.
February 7, 2014
Fox has opted not to continue with The X Factor, canceling the singing competition after three seasons on the air in the US. The show was adapted from the original British version in 2011, but American audiences never really took to show, evidenced by it underperforming in each of its seasons.
Simon Cowell, who was The X Factor's executive producer, will be heading back to the U.K. where he will return to the British version of the show in the fall.

The show suffered from bad judges. Four judges are too many. It takes foever for them to giver their opinion. The choice of judges sucked. Also the group category sucked. American Idol has much better judges this year.

I agree, to much of a commitment, which is why I also can't watch dancing with the stars. Also American Idol and X Factor? Over kill. It's a shame Fox let X Factor and American Idol put new scripted shows on hiatus and than they never got their viewers back. I always knew this would be a problem.

Have the original show stay on. Keep The Voice and America's got talent, but scale back on the Biggest loser and Survivor. Cancel Dancing with the Stars and the bachelor shows.

I would love to watch signing competitions. But they just take up too much of a time commitment. I didn't even have time to watch the X Factor Season 2 with Britney Spears. She's my favourite! But I couldn't commit to watching 3 hours of this every week. I watch so much TV as it is. It's hard to cram in so much time a week watching reality signing shows.
