Fox has cancelled new series Surviving Jack after one season. The freshman comedy will end after a short 8-episode run with its scheduled finale on May 15.
The network had originally ordered 13 episodes in early 2013, but cut that number down to eight late last year. The show finally premiered this past March but failed to draw significant viewership.

The only show I watched! Meloni was awesome - FOX you really must have some serious idiots on your staff if you can make this show for longer than one season.

This was the best show FOX has done in a long time!! I religiously watched every episode wishing it were longer. FOX never gave this a chance!! Do they account for the number of people who DVR it because they can't catch it when it airs? I'm one of those people. I am so very upset by this decision. I love this show!!! Please some other network pick this show up!!!

Darn it FOX!!! My four kids and I all enjoyed this show immensely. It was thoroughly enjoyable with solid writing, a believable premise and wonderful on screen chemistry. You wouldn't believe the sounds that came from my sons' rooms when they both saw the cancelation announcement within moments of each other. Come on CBS - pick this one up!!

This is the usual crap Fox does. I'm not sure why actors would even take a roll on the network, they cancel great shows like this, Arrested Development and numerous others. A good show on Fox is really a death sentence for the show. A sad day indeed. Fox is the worst!

This show is hilarious, and Christopher Meloni was perfect in his role as the harda** dad. What a shame, another great show cancelled. Why do the networks cancel the good shows and renew the so-so ones?

I'm not surprised at all. Fox hasn't had a good comedy (besides the Sunday cartons) in probably over a decade.

American Idol lost its appeal long ago.Surviving Jack was a funny and unique show.The executives at Fox wouldn't know what's good if it bit them in the collective behind.I hope that another network might pick up Surviving Jack.It was nice to see Chris Meloni doing a comedic role and actually smile.

This sucks I loves this show. They were funny and real just ask any parent of teenagers. Please give it another chance.
