The comedy has been axed after a short run.
May 7, 2014
Fox has cancelled new series Surviving Jack after one season. The freshman comedy will end after a short 8-episode run with its scheduled finale on May 15.
The network had originally ordered 13 episodes in early 2013, but cut that number down to eight late last year. The show finally premiered this past March but failed to draw significant viewership.

Surviving Jack is an excellent show. Fox is making a huge blunder with this move. Fox, don't give American Idol so much credit. The lead-in factor isn't there anymore. Surviving Jack has been higher in the ratings than anything on Fox's Tuesday night line-up since it began (Glee, New Girl and Mindy Project). Except for The Simpson's, those animated shows on Sunday night need to go. Year's ago, Fox stuck with Married with Children and it became a huge success. I see many similarities with Surviving Jack, and if given a chance, perhaps it could become a long-term success.

What a dumb move, FOX! This is one of the best family comedies to come out in a while! Chris Meloni is awesome in it! one of the few shows I looked forward to every week.............you barely gave it a chance to succeed!!!

My family and I loved this show. It was so refreshing to see Chris Meloni in a comedy. The entire cast was funny & had great chemistry. Jack's approach was not only funny, but it gave my husband & I some ideas, lol. I wish that they would give these new shows some time to grow. So many shows don't reach their full audience until their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and then go on to 8,9 & 10 seasons. Bad move Fox, this was a great show!
