The new comedy gets the early axe.
May 10, 2014
CBS has cancelled new comedy Friends with Better Lives. The mid-season series premiered in late March and is only five episodes into its run. Ratings for the show have been average thus far but clearly not at levels the network would like to see in its time slot.
The series marks star James Van Der Beek's second failed venture into television comedy in recent years. His last series, Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23, fared better but was cancelled midway through its second season.

This one was very funny. I'll definitely miss it. CBS, I have an idea why don't you replace it with another reality show and give the morons something else to watch. I'm old enough to remember when television series had 2 seasons a year now we get 22 episodes seasons that stretched out over a nine month period and 13 episode replacement series that only a few episodes are aired and the canceled. It really makes me wonder what kind of feeble minded, over paid, short sighted people are guiding the networks that we consumers support. I have had enough of the major network television.

The networks are very short sighted. This is a fast paced humorous adult show. 8:30 was not a good time slot but it should not be canceled.

No lead in to a new show, I would have thought they would have put a show on before it that had proven itself, if anything to get some kind of fan base. I loved it, thought it was hilarious. So sad.

I think TBS should pick this show up. And since they just cancelled Men At Work (which I loved!) this would be a great replacement. I hate that they cancelled this show, I really liked it. I hate when I get into a show and bam it gets cancelled!! Stop doing this to us CBS and other networks!! I also agree with Amanda! Screw this let's all just watch netflix!

Holy hell we all might as well just stop investing time in new shows and just wait till they have been on for a few seasons. It's better to spend a few weeks getting caught up on Netflix and then watch live than to get into the show when it first airs and be left basically high and dry when the show is cancelled after only a few episodes. Especially shows like crisis. That show is great and a real suspense and now they are canceling that midseason too. Screw this, I'm going back to watching old shows on netflix and hulu

I think it is just terrible that networks don't give shows a chance to gain an audience. I loved this show. It had a great cast and the writing was really funny. This was one of my new favorite shows. People are going to stop watching new shows if this keeps up.

I'm so sick of Networks not giving a show a chance to gain an audience. This show is absolutely hilarious. I really hope that another Network is smart and picks this up!
