The drama will not get a second season.
May 10, 2014
CBS has cancelled Hostages after one season. The freshman suspense drama ran for 15 episodes during 2013-2014 but failed to draw significant viewership during its run.
With the storyline effective wrapped up in the show's final episode, many already expected that it would not return.

Given that this was a miniseries, I appreciated the fact that CBS kept it on the air despite low ratings. Now if they would only not renew miniseries with high ratings (ie: Under the Dome) then I could really get into that format.
Shouldn't this have ended under the concluded label? Why did it have to get officially "cancelled?"

When it first came on I did not understand how you could keep this story going very long. It was good though

This show worked perfect the way it was with just one season. It was wrapping up perfectly at the end. No cliffhangers and no unanswered questions. More shows need to end this way.

It's about time they cancelled this show. It was such a waste of an excellent cast.

It was decent enough. I thought it was always meant as a miniseries too.

I thought it was a miniseries. I watched the first five episodes. I got frustrated when those kids didn't take the bus to Canada and stopped watching.

I liked this one, but at least they wrapped it up with a conclusion, unlike SO MANY shows that have left me hanging. Nice try, better luck next time.

CBS was still considering this show? Another good example of what should have always been a miniseries.
