The crime drama won't return for Season 2.

Fox has cancelled Backstrom after one season. The freshman crime dramedy was Rainn Wilson's first prime time starring role since his eight year stint on The Office. The midseason series started with decent ratings but lost a lot of its audience as the weeks went on, concluding at a series low on April 30.

I am very disappointed. It was a fabulous show. Keeping my fingers crossed that someone will pick it up. It made Thursday my favorite night of the week!

Well...I guess I have 2 say it again, screw TV I'm canceling it. They cancel shows like this but we've stuck watching the f-ing bachelorett & crap like that!!!

It seems to me that Backstrom was an attempt to give Rainn Wilson a chance to shine in a different type of vehicle. What viewers had to do, however, was accept the fact that his character was someone who was good at his job but not generally likeable. That's what made this "dramedy" interesting and unpredictable, just like life can be. I guess the TV viewing public wants formulaic standard characters who are 'nice' and simple. Too bad, because that is not interesting TV.

It was different but also hard to watch as they made the lead cop a guy who didn't seem to care about anything.

Loved Backstrom should have not been cancelled. Hope Netflix picks it up. Want to see more of the series.

Of coarse a show i like gets canceled by FOX.I'm done with giving there shows a chance, want to spend my time on a show that might actually stick around for a few seasons
