The summer drama will return for Season 2.
October 2, 2015
CBS announced today that Zoo has been renewed for a second season. The freshman thriller is coming off a successful debut run that saw it rank as this summer's most-watched scripted series.
"Zoo's thrilling stories clicked with audiences each week during a very competitive summer," said CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller in a press release. "We're excited for viewers to see where our talented writers and cast take them as the adventure continues to unfold during season two in the ultimate fight of man vs. beast."
Look for Season 2 of Zoo in summer 2016. Season 1 is available now on Netflix for US audiences.

Oh god please hire a science advisor. Its painfull to watch shows that use goonball science.....

Poor acting, very feeble budget, writing so lame the a rhino could dance thru the plot holes and the "science"...I have a great and well-developed "suspension of disbelief" for silly science in TV shows. This snaps that suspension like it was wet string.
Y'know...if they had not bothered trying to create silly science to explain the preposterous concept but went with some supernatural explanation. Some dark curse enacted by an animal-worshipping cult and the heroes are trying to collect magic trinkets to remove said curse...it would all go down a lot smoother.

What stupid comparisons... "the dinner wasn't nearly as good as the recipe". Stop comparing VIDEO to books. There's NO correlation. A book will always be better because it allows you to use YOUR imagination... video - either movie or television- uses the director's imagination. I hate people who spout the trite "the book was better" You should wear a sign "I'm with.. er wait.. I am stupid."

Good to see it coming back. Originally thought it would be a dud, but as it happens it's better than many shows especially the reality drivel. Never read the book, probably won't... A bit unfair to compare a novel (complete from beginning to end) and a serialized TV show that's trying to create, and extend, a life for itself. As the old saying goes the book is always better than the movie, except in porn.

The show was tolerable at best. I may have enjoyed it more if I'd not read the book first. I don't understand how James Patterson could have allowed them to so completely dump on his source material. By the end of the first season the only thing the show and the book had in common was their title!
If they'd stayed true to the roadmap layed out in the book the series could have been so, so, so much better. I understand that some changes are needed for continuity and longevity, but it's like the show runners deliberately stripped absolutely everything of value from the book. It makes no sense.

It'll suffer the same fate as Under The Dome.

i am not sure why people are dog piling on this show. i thought it was one of the few this summer that made me want to turn in live to see it and watch on demand. i loved the characters and the fact that it was all over the world and very interesting. also am not sure why they are hating the actors. they are all very good and from other shows such as dracula, the whispers and more. were the effects perfect? not always but they are better than the syfy channel. very glad this is coming back for season 2. now i will read the book as well.
