October 2, 2015
CBS announced today that Zoo has been renewed for a second season. The freshman thriller is coming off a successful debut run that saw it rank as this summer's most-watched scripted series.
"Zoo's thrilling stories clicked with audiences each week during a very competitive summer," said CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller in a press release. "We're excited for viewers to see where our talented writers and cast take them as the adventure continues to unfold during season two in the ultimate fight of man vs. beast."
Look for Season 2 of Zoo in summer 2016. Season 1 is available now on Netflix for US audiences.

Lets' be honest.. ANYTHING that isn't the standard formulaic cop, legal, medical show will "click" with viewers. This show isn't fabulous... but it doesn't follow the standard drama formula --- you know.. opening 5 minutes of main story, 30 minutes of unrelated story, closing 5 minutes of main story. Seriously, almost EVERY network drama follows that formula because it allows the hacks writing it to work less. So while Zoo isn't great, at least it's different. Unless the networks start trying new things, they are destined to fade away because cable networks are doing a MUCH better job writing.

Good show out of the box thinking.

Talented writers?? The story jumps all about the place. Acting is sub standart at best. Maybe as its clearly under funded is why it recieves a second season.
