The action series will end after nine episodes.
October 23, 2015
The Player's game is almost up. NBC has cut back on the show's freshman episode order, trimming its original 13 down to just nine. The move comes after a slow start for the action thriller, which has failed to draw significant viewership on Thursday nights at 10:00pm after its first five episodes.
For fans of The Player, the move unfortunately all-but-cancels the show. For now, four new episodes remain on the network's schedule, which has it signing off in mid-November.

Wow, Mat. How closely related are your parents? They couldn't spell your name correctly and they taught you jacksh** about life.

The reason the 18-49 agree group is important is cause people in that age range are not thinking about saving for retirement. They frivolously spend money without thinking twice. When i was 18 i bought a 5000$ Rolex with a credit card even though i didn't have the money. Impulse shoppers are what they wantm the younger the dumber and more careless. I wore that watch once. Do you think i would do that again? If you said yes your right i dropped 10,000$ on a down payment for a 2011 camaro when i already have 2 paid of cars. If i was planning on retiring i would never of done it.

The first episode had too many directions, but since then it seems to improve each week. It's up against Thursday Football and they decide it's not getting large enough audience???? What totally amazes me is every year there's a program that comes out, but it does not attract the 18-35 year olds, forget it. It's dead. You do know people in other age groups have brains, have income, and have the ability to turn off a network.

9's a good start... how about cutting it to "time served" now?

I always wonder why they even look at ratings while the baseball play offs / World Series is going on.

Too bad. I like the show. Watched it every week. Hopefully they end it well for those of us who watched it. Never saw Person of Interest. It reminded me of Knight Rider but instead of the car it's a computer. Oh well...

I love all the idiots that complain that new shows get cancelled and then turn around and say that's why they don't watch new shows. You twits get how it works right? You watch a new show so it gets higher ratings and then guess what? It doesn't get cancelled. Amazing how that works isn't it???. Yes, I understand you have to be a Nielsen family for true ratings, but there are either ways they track viewership... TWITS!

We all wanted to watch it but didn't. We sent the message we DID NOT want to watch it. NBC heard our message and canned it.
