The hit series continues its dominance.

AMC announced today that The Walking Dead has been renewed for a seventh season. The veteran drama continues to rank as one of television's top series, making the pickup an easy decision for the network.
Ratings have continued to be strong through the first three episodes of Season 6, with viewership on track to keep The Walking Dead as TV's most-watched drama among adults 18-49 across broadcast and cable networks for the fourth straight year.
While the number of episodes for Season 7 has not been announced, another 16 appears likely, which would be in-line with recent years. Scott M. Gimple will be returning once again as showrunner, with the current stable of executive producers remaining the same as well.

Here and in it's "Fear..." Spin off you get to see elements needed for good drama; no matter what or where the environment, Ordinary People facing Extraordinary Situations. I agree with the line of thought wherein the show is about people, not walkers, biters, zombies, whatever. Remember, more cast members have been killed by the living than the dead.

Great to hear, I know it can't last forever but it really is a great show even if it makes you mad when it kills people off. Good luck to the actors this season!

This show will last as long as it can keep paying the actors, whose prices are sure to go up each turn

Can not believe that people don't like Chris Hardwick. He loves the show.I've never been a Zombie movie fan but I like this. For those who don't like this just change the channel and watch your Storage Wars or Dog Thee Bounty Hunter.

I see many of you are not familiar with the comic source either. The walking dead comic is very much about conflict between people and survivors and not an hour and a half zombie movie. If the show was just all zombies all the time it would get extremely boring and repetitive. And the explanation of why no one calls them zombies is accurate. Zombie stories and lore does not exists in this world. If you knew nothing of zombies or that word, what would you call them when you see them?
