The TNT drama will not continue.
December 15, 2015
TNT has cancelled Legends after its second season. The drama has seen its viewership tumble in its sophomore run, with numbers falling considerably lower than Season 1 after it was retooled between seasons.
The show's final episodes are scheduled to air as planned, with the series finale set for December 28.

Watched both seasons bought most of the episodes. I got tired of the annoying Mormon guy Nd was glad to see him go. Really liked this show.was interesting. ShAme. I was wondering how some of the legend fit together. Guess I never know. Feels like rip off there.

this season was great. way better than season one. giving the back stories through the different settings and tielines was awesome and actionpacked.great characcter development because you saw characters over 20 years but just in a few episodes.
put it on a tues, wed, or fri and it would get hte ratings.
hopefully it will get picked up by another network.
bean is great, but all the acting was really good.

I thought this season was terrific, and masterfully told. To be fair, we had it recorded while on vacation all of Nov and then watched the entire season over the holidays. That being said, we had no problem following the different timelines (they introduce each scene with a location and time for gods sake..). Honestly, I thought that was a far more interesting way to tell the story - and it was **much** better than the episodic garbage of last season. If you were watching week to week maybe its harder to follow, I'll never know. I did like that they simplified the cast a bit and focused the story more on "Martin Odum". The how and why he came to be was very well thought out and plausibly arranged. I also greatly appreciated how things tended to get 'mucked up' a bit - it never went the way it was planned and that added a lot of genuine feel. Characters were far better developed and more depth was emphasized.
However, TNT's ratings were all down across the board: Rizzoli & Isles (-17%), Major Crimes (-19%), Last Ship (-34%), Librarians (-45%), Murder in the first (-28%) - all were renewed. Perception, which had their 4th highest viewership was canceled (-21%) but Legends had dropped -63%. This despite very good ratings (opinions) from critics.. However:
ITS ON MONDAY F$%$@*#G NIGHT AT 1900 PST.. MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL STARTS 1730 PST.. MONDAY NIGHT! The season ran from August 13th to Dec 28th - which pretty much overlapped MNF precisely. Last year, the show was on WED!!
"Hey! Dumb a%$**$%s at TNT! You think maybe moving the show from Wed to a slot that competes with MNF might have had more to do with the ratings that the quality of the show or desire of some demographics to watch it?"
The fact that they canceled on 15 Dec tells me they don't really count TIVO/DVR viewing, or can't. I am also willing to bet that online viewing over the holidays might have changed some numbers.
I hope that another network takes a look at it and decides there's a good foundation to move forward on. I think the writing was well done (I think the original author from the book weighed in a lot) but its fair that they need to streamline the time-skipping a bit, help bring in more people.
Oh well, what else is new. I'll just turn the TV off and find something more fulfilling to do that some moron with a barely functioning education can cancel.

the writers screwed this show over. The first season was really good, this season is terrible. 3 different timelines, multi charachters.... couldnt keep anything straight

I haven't watched any episodes, but I heard good things about it. I guess now that they cancelled it they must have used their time machine to make the old episodes horrible. I guess I will not watch the eps now that they are horrible.
(but seriously just watch the episodes and be happy that you got any.)

What really killed this show was postponing season 2 from airing in August until November...we had to wait over a year for season 2, and that never bodes well. I LOVE this show. I actually really like season 2 a lot, it's no where as good as season 1 but it's the only show I'm waiting on the TNT site to ge uploaded every night! These networks don't realize that people don't watch live tv anymore. With the access people have to mobile devices and DVRs and the freedom all these services like Hulu and AmazonFire provide why would people even make an effort to watch a show the same time every week.. consistently! I know I work a rotating schedule and work overnights so there's no way I can watch my shows when they air.. I sleep until 1030pm most nights! Live viewership numbers should not determine whether a show is cancelled or not, because that doesn't even remotely reflect the amount of people actually watching the show! Even half the comments here people say they have DVR'd it!
I'm really upset to see this go. I don't think I've EVER been more upset about a show cancellation since "The Newsroom" and "Revolution"!
Sean Bean is amazing and I was excited to see who he is and how he got to where he is now! Season 2 is definitely not as good but it still has me hanging on my seat WAITING for the next episode.
I agree with most of y'all, the producers definitely should have not jumped around so much. The flashbacks are great and all but it is a little hard to keep everything straight as to what happened when, etc, etc.
I'm just going to add this to my list of amazing shows cancelled waaaay too soon... The Newsroom, Revolution, Blood & Oil, Leverage, and SOOO many more! If TNT cancels The Last Ship I vow to never watch another TNT show, NEVER!

Season 1 was good but the so called retooled Season 2 was disappointing. TNT should remember "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I'm not surprised people stopped watching.
