No Season 2 for the Neil Patrick Harris variety show.
December 16, 2015
NBC has pulled the plug on its live variety show Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris. The freshman entry, which premiered in September as part of NBC's fall lineup, was the network's latest attempt at a prime time variety show. Its premiere episode garnered decent ratings, but viewership declined over the course of its 8-episode run.

I guess my curse on NPH is actually working! Why a curse you ask? Because after David Letterman announced his retirement NPH was asked if he would be interested in taking over the Late Show. He said no because he would get "bored". Your right NPH, having a frenetic, disjointed and awful variety show was much better wasn't it?!

Looks like the show had promise, it just couldn't find its place. I already watch The Voice and AGT, so I had trouble seeing how this show would present anything different than could be found on those other two shows. I like NPH, but he alone wasn't enough of an incentive for me to watch.

Ack! How disappointing! It wasn't perfect but it was fun and different. My hubby and I got some really good laughs out of each episode. The fact that it was live added something a little different too. I loved it when things didn't work or went wrong. It only added to the amusement. I think it had real potential and just needed some more time to make some adjustments. Too bad. And Neil is definitely talented.

I hated the karaoke but the end of the show show they did every time was awesome and mini NPH was awesome as well. Neil can't wait to see what your gonna do next but this show had some flaws that just didn't work.
As for haters I won't wish your shows cancelled and throw them under the bus when mine get cancelled if you do the same.

Sad that nobody really liked this show. I found that it was fun to watch and my 3 daughters loved watching it. Not much good family viewing on these days. It would be nice to have a few shows stick around that you can watch together.

I'm thoroughly disappointed by this show's cancellation. I honestly thought it was great as it was certainly better than those junk "reality" shows and even wrote to NBC asking they keep it on the schedule. Seems my effort was all for naught. We need more shows on the air like "Best Time Ever", not fewer. I hope Neil finds himself a good gig.

Recorded it, then zipped thru it to the ending big production number. That was always entertaining. Rest not so much

This show was the epitome of "if you've seen one, you've seen them all".

Good. He is not one of my favorite actors. He acts too strange. The big question is what will replace it. More junk or something good.

Loved the 1st 1/2 of the 1st episode, then it went down hill from there.
Neil has to try to stop being Barney from HIMYM.
