Amazon has ordered more of the new dramedy.
December 18, 2015
Amazon announced today that Red Oaks has been renewed for a second season. The dramedy started out as a single pilot episode in August 2014, and after positive response was picked up for a series order shortly after. The full first season eventually premiered in early October with all 10 episodes released on the same day.
Look for Season 2 of Red Oaks in 2016.

Glad to see this show renewed. I really enjoyed season 1, particularly the music, which was a great mix of well-known and obscure songs that all seemed to fit really well.

I'm kind of disappointed that, for the most part, Amazon seems to be wanting to move towards the hour dramas more than anything (Hand of God, Man in the High Castle [also renewed], etc). I like those as well. However, I really wanted to see more of The After and Zombieland but those died after their pilots. It appears that the campy sci-fi that could pull in a specific demographic are being overlooked for a possibly older, more serious demographic. It's good to see Red Oaks renewed though. It's one of the few non-drama Amazon shows I can think of off the top of my head. Season 1 was okay. I enjoyed it.
