Fox announced today that Bones has been renewed for a final season. The veteran procedural drama will return for a shortened Season 12 that will consist of 12 new episodes to conclude a run of over a decade and 240+ episodes.
For fans of the long-running series, the network is promising a satisfying and meaningful end for the main characters when the show wraps up in the 2016-2017 season. For now Bones still has the rest of Season 11 to finish up, with new episodes set to resume on April 14.

I figured this had to be coming. Good long run. I binged the whole series last year but totally lost interest this season.
But I have to ask why do people assume everything will be replaced with reality shows? Why always assume the worst? You sound like you think producers are out to ruin YOUR tv experience specifically; so dramatic.

Great show, sad to see it go, but I much prefer they KNOW when they are going to be doing a final season this way they can end it all nice and simple.

Sure it's run its course but I've been enjoying it as a fallback show when I'm caught up on everything else. I'm glad they're knowing full well ahead of time when it's ending so they can close it as desired.
