No Season 2 for the dark comedy.
March 1, 2016
Amazon has cancelled Mad Dogs after one season. It isn't that the dark comedy underperformed for the streaming service, but rather creative differences were cited as the reason.
Co-creator Shawn Ryan took to Twitter over the weekend to express that his vision for the future of the series differed from the direction Amazon wanted to go, causing them to ultimately pass on moving forward. Ryan also clarified that Mad Dogs was originally planned as a limited series to begin with, and that he was happy with the show ending the way it did.

@PJAmerica: I'll give you that some US remakes of UK shows are never as good, but its not automatic that it will tank, in a lot of cases I like both. I noticed you forgot to mention The Office, I never liked either version but both were very popular. With Coupling, while it did flop in the US, I did like both equally. In the case of Shameless, I felt the british version was kinda boring, but I quite enjoy the US version. Spaced is one where I would of liked to see come out but it got scraped because the original creators complained.

I loved this show, it was a Breaking Bad style of show. When everything looks like its going to work,POW !! everything gets worse than before. Loved the whole concept and would've enjoyed more. So Sad for Amazon to cancel.

The UK version is the best. There was never a need to remake this show. I hate it when the US remakes perfectly good UK and Aussies shows as they are. Americans are smart enough to enjoy the originals. 99% of all the US remakes of UK/Aussie shows flopp anyways. Shameless has succeeded because it doesn't regurgitate the writing almost verbatim. This version of Mad Dogs sucked.

Watch the whole thing. the last episode was sort of a closure-cliffhanger but it suffices. i think it never even needed a consideration for a second season. it does more than god as a kind of a 1 season mini series. maybe you should try and watch the UK version as well. Ben Chaplin (Joel) is also on it. and it's structures in 4 season, with 4 episodes each one expect for the last season with 2.

@Matt - you should definitely finish watching it. The ending is good and left it open to either end there or continue if the producers decided to do so.

Honestly the show was not really that good. It as watchable, but it really was not very entertaining.

I'm furious about this! I'm not even sure if I should waste my time watching the last episode. Anyone who has seen it think it would be worth finishing or should I just move on?
