No Season 3 for the sophomore comedy.
March 25, 2016
HBO has cancelled Togetherness, opting not to renew the sophomore comedy for a third season. Series co-creator Mark Duplass posted a statement about the cancellation on Twitter this morning, thanking the show's fans for their support.
While the series did have a core loyal following, overall viewership numbers were too low for the cable network to continue with further seasons. The series finale of Togetherness will air on Sunday, April 10.

I really liked this show the first season. But the trip to Detroit and some of the other weird turns this show took in season two made me wonder if it was more a series or a stream of consciousnesses.

Duplass brothers are inconsistent. Yes, at times they hit gold, but just as often they hit crickets. They don't know how to write for a premise and stick to the premise. They branch out and try to be other things within a global premise. They can't remain consistently funny, yet they seem to want to be comedy writers. Truth is if they just wrote drama they may be better at it.

My condolences to the fans. When they cancelled the Jack Black series 6 months after they renewed it I became furious. Their reason was they had too many projects that they were working on.
I tell myself everytime a show I love ends that the actors, writers, and producers will move on to something I love so much more and can't live without.
Example.
When Last resort was cancelled the actors moved onto other shows I don't wanna live without. The guy from Terminator 2 is now on scorpion. The captain moved on, to do Brooklyn 99.
Sarah Connor chronicles Lena heady moved on to Game of thrones as cerci Lannister.
You get my point. It may be awhile or even possibly right away but they'll be back and next time it'll be better. I promise.
