The new spin-off will return for Season 2.
May 16, 2016
CBS announced today that Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders has been renewed for a second season. The freshman procedural drama premiered earlier this year as a mid-season replacement and has been a decent performer for the network on Wednesday nights.
Beyond Borders is the second spin-off in the Criminal Minds franchise and today's pickup ensures it will fare better than 2011's Suspect Behavior, which was cancelled after just one low-rated season.
It is unclear at this time if CBS will keep Beyond Borders as a mid-season entry for 2016-2017 or if it will move the show into its regular lineup in the fall.

...because they can just reuse the scripts form other CSI series.... and add accents.

Glad to hear, it really is a great show, I thought it would be canceled since it's not as dark as other crime shows are trying to be. I only watched bc of Gary Sinise, he's great, glad he's back on tv!

Charlie, I completely agree! This show is *so* formulaic!

Compared to some of the shows that were cancelled, this surprises me.
