The new drama will return for Season 2.
July 23, 2016
During today's San Diego Comic-Con panel for Wynonna Earp, it was announced that the show has been picked up for a second season. The comic book adaptation premiered back in April for a 13-episode run, with its story following the great granddaughter of Wyatt Earp fighting to bring demons and other paranormal beings to justice.
Syfy has ordered 10 new episodes for Season 2 of Wynonna Earp, down three episodes from its Season 1 count. Look for the new season in 2017.

Wow... I couldn't even make it through the first episode before bailing (happily) on this show.... a second season astonishes me.

I could have sworn this was gone. But i'm sort of relieved. The actress who plays Waverly is very good at a supporting role, and had the cliffhanger not involve her, I would have been fine with it ending.

I'll admit I groaned heavily when I saw the very first promos for the show, but since it was SyFy and they've been on a streak lately I chose not to dismiss it outright. It did take a couple episodes for it to gain traction for me (the first 20 minutes of the pilot nearly lost me completely but I stuck it out) and it actually turned out to be a pretty decent show.
If SyFy gives them the money and tools they need, a second season could really take this show to another level. The by the end of the first they'd really developed some pretty interesting characters and the "Earp Universe" definitely has a lot of roads worth exploring. They did a fantastic job casting their lead and the majority of the supporting cast seems to be up to the task as well. I wasn't sure SyFy was gonna greenlight another season, but I'm glad they did. I suppose only time will tell if it was the right call.
