The new comedy will return for Season 2.
July 27, 2016
CMT announced today that Still The King has been renewed for a second season. The freshman comedy, which premiered last month as the cable network's first move into original scripted programming, stars Billy Ray Cyrus as a washed-up one-hit-wonder who comes to learn he has a 15-year-old daughter.
The series is off to a strong start through the first two-thirds of its run. Its June 8 premiere ranks as the cable network's highest-rated debut for an original series with over 4.7 million viewers in Live+3 numbers across a three-network simulcast, and continues to garner almost 4.5 million viewers each week.
CMT has ordered 13 new episodes for Season 2 of Still The King, which is slated to begin production in Nashville this fall for a 2017 premiere.

I've been a BRC fan from Day One, based on his looks and music. I never knew that he was smart enough to pull off a satire, mocking himself. It's just hilarious, if you're as smart as he is!

.... Watched first 2 episodes.... not a laugh in sight.... and Cyrus can NOT act, which may be why he's essentially playing himself (washed up 1-hit wonder)... no chance this ever hits my screen again. Good luck with the show CMT... but I think it's horrible.
