Vernon Brownmule, otherwise known as "Burnin' Vernon" is a washed-up former country music singer who was a one-hit-wonder back in the day. 20 years later, Vernon has found his calling as the second-best Elvis impersonator around.

After being arrested for crashing into a church sign while drunk, Vernon is sentenced to serve as the church's handyman. Along the way, he is able to reconnect with a former fling, which leads him to discover that he has a 15-year-old daughter he didn't know existed.
