The summer space drama will return next year.
September 1, 2016
Syfy announced today that Dark Matter has been renewed for a third season. The Canadian-produced drama, which concludes its sophomore run later this month, follows a spaceship's crew that have no memories of who they are or how they got on board their craft.
There is no word yet on the number of episodes on order for Season 3, but a return is expected in 2017.

I'm changing my name from Steven to Steven S. as I belatedly saw there is someone else posting as Steven. (I have made infrequent posts over many months.)
I'm the one who appreciated that Dark Matter has held together well, despite some weak spots.
I stuck with Killjoys for the full first season but dumped it as there are too many much better shows to watch. I suppose it's possible it got cleaned up in season two, but highly unlikely.

I love the show so this is great news. Dark Matter steals from Star Trek, like many that have come before it, and I like the general goodness, survival, and exploration aspects.
(I killed Killjoys after season 1, which I painfully watched, as it took a good idea and wasted it. I can't believe it got a season 2, and now a 3.

I liked the first season, the second not so much. The story isn´t progressing it´s moving sideways. At the moment the only thing that is keeping my interest is the Android plot. The remaining episodes will determine if I´m in for the third season.

I really do like this show, it's a great companion for the Killjoys timeslot (killjoys is 10x better tho). I think the first season was a little clumsy towards the end, and this season has been a little bit all over the map, but I'm glad SyFy is sticking with it. I think season three will likely be their strongest yet, but only if the writers can find a way to stabilize their storyline a bit.

I don't think this is a boring show! IT just has decent characters and doesn't worry about boring vidiots . people who game all the time that is. Great news.

This is surprising. This show is painfully boring, I tried to finish season 2 but I couldn't take the rehashed plotlines they were tossing from season 1.
