The dramedy will not return for Season 5.
September 1, 2016
It is being reported that Lifetime had decided not to continue with Devious Maids, cancelling the veteran dramedy after four seasons. The news comes three weeks after the show's Season 4 finale, which aired on August 8, and leaves its season-ending cliffhanger unresolved.
Devious Maids was created by Marc Cherry, best known for bringing us Desperate Housewives, and followed a group of Latina maids who were employed to clean the homes of wealthy families in Beverly Hills, California. The show fared reasonably well for the network over most of its run, though viewership did steadily taper off with each season, reaching series-lows in Season 4 that were less than half of what it drew in its first couple of years on the air.
Being one of only two scripted series on Lifetime, Devious Maids' departure leaves just UnREAL, which will return in 2017 for its third season, currently left in that category.

What's up lifetime? You were one of the GOOD choice networks! Devious maids was great! It had a little of everything in it and was relatable on many levels to normal people who don't watch stupid reality TV. Not to mention you left all the viewers hanging. Really, ask yourselves, was it necessary to cancel this show?? Why? Lifetime is a great channel. The movies you have are good, and devious maids was as well. Surely it can't be a money issue?! I am sooooo dissapointed I was so looking forward to this seasons show. You should read all the reviews written and you would see how your choice wasn't a good one. You messed up on this decision Lifetime...Sad really...bad bad decision making.

Overdue, if you ask me.
Season 1 was great!
Season 2 was mediocre. It became obvious they were giving characters things to do since they really didn't know what to do with them anymore.
Season 3 was when they stopped caring and characters became weak parody versions of themselves. This is when I bailed on it.
Devious Maids started out being what Desperate Housewives **used** to be, before it slid into safety, soapiness, and irrelevance. Then Devious Maids became all that. It's a shame, but the show was a corpse anyway.

But they keep on (name of show that people are watching and can sell more ad revenue than cost to make)! They should have kept this on the air. I (one single viewer which will not add enough revenue to make up for the money spent to produce the show) liked it. Well I'm not going to watch anything this network makes anymore. Networks (a company) are always canceling (trying to get rid of under preforming and costly product) my (not the owner of but viewer of) shows.

Nooooooo! I loved this show! The strong cast of female stars was a breath of fresh air. Susan Lucci was fabulous and she played her part so well. Loved all the women in this series and so relatable no matter what you ethic background! This show should continue - if there's a really smart network out there that understands what makes people tick they could pick up this winner! EVERYONE I talk to is SICK OF REALITY TV - get a clue networks!

Well when you put on a show that is not a ripoff of Desperate (for ratings) Housewives, and that show gets EMMY nominations, you know you can do better. But even if they can do better they should not have canned this just cut its budget and tell them to do better or this is the last season. Really you don't have time to air this but you can show Grey Anatomy (book was better). Just stop showing grey 10 times in one day, stop paying so much for this and boom no need to cancel.

We got a ton of laughs from this show. The one liners this show delivered had us watching and snickering and looking forward to the next episode. This was a gem among a sea of sh*tty shows we are consistently fed. Hope someone else picks it up.

Again a good show gets canned yet that so called reality farce lives on. Instead of Dance Moms staying on she should be in jail for her tax issues. Way to go Lifetime keep rewarding. I know this junk is cheaper to produce but still rather watch a test pattern.

One of the best shows on television and they can it? Apparently low ratings yet I know so many that watch it, meanwhile shows I don't watch and know nobody who do watch and always wonder how they stay on the air keep getting renewed.
