The new drama is on the chopping block.
October 25, 2016
The future is not looking bright for freshman drama Notorious. Word is out that ABC has trimmed the show's episode count down to 10 from its originally-planned 13. The move follows a slow start for the new Thursday night series, which has underperformed in the 9:00pm hour between Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away With Murder.
While Notorious is not yet at cancelled status, new series that have their episode counts reduced do not have a good track record of returning for additional seasons. For now, the show's remaining five episodes will air as planned, but the likelihood of seeing more appears remote at this point.

The show is actually good but with 1 fatal flaw, it's oversexed & the great plot & potential it has gets lost in a cluster of trying to be "racy"

I didn't watch any episodes of Notorious, so can't really comment. I made a decision not to watch it after seeing some of the advertisements.
It has gotten to where I view very few traditional network shows anymore. Once you get accustomed to The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones or any series that puts a lot of effort into the craft, then all these commercial infested network crap shows can hardly keep your attention.
It's sometimes hard to understand an entertainment medium that can feature a beautiful show like Boardwalk Empire which reached a natural and satisfying ending that raised the quality bar... while Two Broke Girls goes on and on.
Obviously, it's being watched and getting ratings that create valuable ad space.
I just don't understand why.
I tried to watch Kevin Can Wait and made it ten minutes in before changing over to something from Netflix.
Sometimes, it's the laugh tracks that drive me away so fast.
Give me a chance to laugh on my own, you Network Nimrods.

and this is a show my friend and i were talking about how much we love it. viewers have a no win - we don't watch to see if it gets renewed and it gets cancelled, or we invest time in watching it, and it gets cancelled.

Isn't this from last year's golden girl, Shonda Rhimes? Has the luster dimmed?

Good. Another piece of junk from ABC gone. Since they canceled Forever I hope everything they put up goes goes the drain.

I gotta agree with Howard and Pope. I watched the first two and that was it. Tried to give it a chance but it wasn't easy to even watch those two. The wife and I love Daniel Sunjata from his Rescue Me days. Loved Rescue Me. Also Graceland. But just can't get into this show.

We actually LOVE Notorious. I would urge abc to reconsider. We think its terrific. Demographic is couple, 53 and 47, with three kids. While were on abc, we also love the Goldbergs, Fresh off the Boat, Dancing with the Stars, Scandal, HTGAWM, Speechless is okay. Still tune in for Modern Family. American Housewife was the pits! Yes, I still tune in for the Bachelor and its offshoots. But my favorites are always the 9/10 o'clock dramas. This is the first time we are finding Once Upon a time confusing. So many lands, story lines and back story lines, I almost feel like I have to watch the entire series again to stay on track. Now with the land of Unfinished Stories, there are a ton more stories to integrate. Honestly, we are having trouble following. Lots of great new pilots amongst the four channels, so forgive me if I missed an abc one that I meant to comment on. But yes, we enjoy Notorious and look forward to it every week.
