Amazon announced this morning that One Mississippi has been renewed for a second season. The freshman comedy, which premiered its pilot episode one year ago, released its full first season of six episodes in September that has been well-received by both critics and viewers.

Loosely-inspired by comedian Tig Notaro's life, One Mississippi stars Notaro, who also co-created the series with Diablo Cody, as a woman who returns to her childhood hometown of Bay Saint Lucille after the unexpected passing of her mother. The show follows Tig's personal struggles as she deals with the complexities of re-acquainting with her past.

Look for Season 2 to release in 2017.
