It is being reported that Amazon is doing some housecleaning with a few of their original comedies, and as a result has cancelled One Mississippi. The move comes after two seasons of the half-hour series, which last aired new episodes in the fall.

Loosely-inspired by Tig Notaro's life, One Mississippi was co-created by and starred the comedian. She played a woman who returns to her childhood hometown after the unexpected passing of her mother. The show followed Tig's personal struggles dealing with the complexities of re-acquainting with her past.

While the series was well received by both viewers and critics, a strategy shift is said to be the driving force behind the cancellation. Amazon is said be moving to focus on larger-scale dramas that appeal to a wider range of audiences going forward.
