Season 2 ordered for the new Sarah Jessica Parker comedy.
November 14, 2016
HBO announced today that Divorce has been renewed for a second season. The freshman comedy, which premiered last month, marks Sarah Jessica Parker's return to television after a 12-year absence since Sex and the City went off the air.
The new half-hour series has been a solid performer for the network through its first five episodes. Its average of 4.4 million viewers is at the same level as shows such as Girls and Veep. New episodes are currently airing Sunday nights.
In Divorce, Parker stars as Frances, a middle-aged woman who suddenly realizes that her current life needs reassessment, including her marriage. But with a family that includes two kids and over 10 years of wedlock, making a fresh start is harder than she thought.
10 new episodes of Divorce have been ordered for Season 2, which is slated to return in 2017.

.. says a lot when Molly Shannon is the "babe" on the show.... Old horse-faced Parker seems to have hitched her saddle to a loser here. The show is rather drab.

I agree with Pope and Sherry. I am really trying to like the show because of Thomas Haden Church. I hope we see Jamie Clement (Julian) again...he is an funny guy.

Pope...I agree with you on this show moving a little too slow. Not all that SJP touches is gold. This show needs some TLC.

My new favorite show. Sarah Jessica Parker is fabulous! Each episode gets better.

I love Sharon Horgan's writing (Catastrophe, Dead boss, etc), but this show is either moving so slow it's uninteresting, or the humor is just not being conveyed well. Each episode seems to end with a situational joke... but the preceding 28 minutes are somewhat humorless. I think they need to ramp up the humor if it's supposed to be funny.
