Nearly two years after it was last renewed, HBO announced today that Divorce has been picked up for a third season. The news comes eight months since the comedy last aired a new episode.
The half-hour series premiered in 2016 and marked Sarah Jessica Parker's return to television after a 12-year absence since Sex and the City went off the air. The show has been a decent performer for the cable network, receiving mixed reviews from critics.
In Divorce, Parker stars as Frances, a middle-aged woman who suddenly realizes that her current life needs reassessment, including her marriage. But with a family that includes two kids and over a decade of wedlock, making a fresh start is harder than she thought.
Production is slated to begin in early 2019, with a likely premiere later in the year.
