The reality competition will return this May.

After another five-year absence, Fear Factor is returning to television once again - only this time on a new network. MTV announced today that it is reviving the iconic dare/stunt game show for a summer run with an updated format and new host.
The series originally began on NBC back in 2001 as one of its first reality shows, and at the time was an unexpected hit for the network. Its success continued for a number of years before eventually being cancelled in 2006. NBC attempted to bring the show back in 2011 but it only ended up airing for one 8-episode season.
The new installment of the series on MTV is part of a new partnership with actor and recording artist Ludacris, who will executive produce the show and also take on hosting duties. The upcoming incarnation has been updated for today's generation with stunts inspired by viral videos, popular scary movies, and urban legends. Teams of contestants will be taken outside their comfort zones as they confront their fears and battle it out for the $50,000 grand prize.
MTV has ordered 12 new episodes of Fear Factor, which is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, May 30 at 10:00pm.

:) "I hate todays youth.." --- don't forget.. --------."Get off My Lawn!" and " In my day...." and "When I was your age..." ------ You're sounding like a mean old lady there, Chloe. :) -- I don't mind Ludicrous (other than the stupid pseudonym). He may do a decent job hosting. I don't really see how Joe Rogan really added much of anything via hosting. Like all "hosts" replacing him isn't that big of a deal in my eyes. No real telling what "updated for today's youth" even means until its seen. -- So they'll swallow FRESH horse jizz now rather than the stale refrigerated stuff in 20011?

"updated for todays generation" "viral videos" I hate todays youth...How many TV shows do they really need about videos they have already seen on the internet. How absolutely moronic

Bring on Joe Rogen as at least co host or guest! Or else I will not watch it even if MTV should be rebadged RSTV (Reality show Television) cause that's all they have really anymore.

Being on cable, they will be able to get away with a lot more than they could have on network television, maybe to be safe just stay away from semen.

Interesting... I wonder if this will be killed quickly due to one episode which "goes too far" as the previous revival was.

New host? No watch. Joe Rogan would be the only reason I'd go back to it. Ridiculous to do it without. Same goes for the new Cash Can without Ben Bailey.
