The baseball drama will not return for Season 2.

Word is out this evening that Fox has opted against continuing with new series Pitch, cancelling the show after just one season. Showrunner Kevin Falls broke the news on Twitter, posting "I'm sorry to tell you that @PITCHonFOX will not be getting a second season".
The baseball drama premiered last September as part of the network's regular fall line-up, airing a short 10-episode run that garnered its share of critical acclaim but ultimately failed to draw a large enough audience in its Thursday night time slot against some strong competition.
Produced in partnership with Major League Baseball, Pitch followed a gifted female baseball player who achieved instant fame after being called up to the majors. As a fish-out-of-water rookie, she worked to prove herself to her skeptical teammates - some of whom didn't even want her on the field.

So upset by this! I finally got my husband to watch a network drama and love it and it gets cancelled. Hate that they left it hanging

I wish this wasn't canceled, here is my problem

So change the day! It could completely run away with a time slot if it is a different day, it was different type of show, fun to watch, and deserved better than 10 episodes.

Very typical of you to defend a person like Marc when someone says they are happy that show is cancelled and it made his day. Would of said that if it was a white girl probably not. The show seemed a little to under the radar for what it was. It happens sometimes. Yes on other networks with less concern for ratings could have sustained it... maybe. Would they have. I think this just was not able to connect with the premise.

Andrew...I don't think Marc was saying anything racially bad about the show...it just needed a bigger lead actor with more of a household name to draw people in (doesn't matter what race). The only actors I recognize are that of the supporting cast...Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dan Lauria, Ali Larter, or Mark Consuelos. I will say everything in this time slot has been cancelled by Fox or moved to a different night.

sucks they cancelled it.
My daughter and I watched it and we enjoyed it.
Some of it was a bit unrealistic, but i liked the overall story etc.
