Fox officially cancelled Rosewood this morning, pulling the plug on the Morris Chestnut drama after two seasons on the air. Shortly after word of the cancellation broke, Chestnut took to his Instagram page to express his thanks to those involved in making the show.
The series got its start as part of Fox's 2015 fall lineup and had a fairly impressive run as the lead-in to the highly-popular Empire on Wednesday nights. Its ratings in the early going were actually stronger than any other freshman series on the network. Unfortunately momentum slowed considerably by the time Season 2 rolled around, with audiences neglecting to follow the show to its new time slot on Thursdays and later Fridays.
Rosewood followed a top Miami private pathologist who performs for-hire autopsies in his sophisticated lab. He gets enlisted by the Miami PD to help solve some of their most challenging cases by utilizing his abilities to uncover clues that others don't see.
