The Tim Allen comedy ends after six seasons.
May 10, 2017
Word is out this afternoon that ABC has cancelled Last Man Standing after six seasons on the air. The news comes as a bit of a surprise, as the veteran comedy has been an overall consistent performer for the network on Friday nights.
On the air since 2011, Last Man Standing was another successful TV venture for comedian Tim Allen. The show was Allen's first return to the small screen since 90s hit Home Improvement, and while it didn't quite have the longevity of his past series, its 130-episode run was impressive by today's standards.

I have to believe that the harpoons Tim Allen fired in the direction of liberals contributed to the show's cancellation. It was a show my family looked forward to and will be missed.

Wow one of the few comedy shows that is funny without sex jokes every 30 seconds. This was one we watched every week. It was different than most shows. Sure it was not original but it was entertaining. The shows after I watched once or twice but did not care for them. The show was doing well so you can speculate politics played some tole in the canceling. I'm now down to just a few comedies I will watch.

This was one of the most boring shows on tv. It was barely a show. It felt like it was from the 90's. I would rather have a reality show than this pandering tripe. May I just watch too much tv and can see lazieness when it is aired.

Not surprised but still sad to see it go. Loved the cast. This last season, though, was hit and miss. The character of Eve was especially annoying. It's like the writers couldn't quite figure out who or what she wanted to be, so she just was annoying and stupid. I never watched Home Improvement so if it was similar, I had no idea. I will miss the characters.

There are much worse shows to drop the ax on ABC before this one. It proves that the network executives have shit for brains. Good riddance idiots at Disney.

I cannot believe ABC canceled this show!! I looked forward to Friday nights and now you cancel it! I wish ABC would go back to the older days where TGIF TV shows was worth watching.

Unfortunate to read. Wish the final episode would've been a good send off. Obviously the creators didn't see it coming because the season finale didn't do much as a final send off. What really can be a reasonable standard of success for Friday nights?

I really loved this show. It was a lot of fun and I always looked forward to watching it. What a disappointment to see it cancelled. Way better than Dr. Ken.

"Consistent performer on Friday night"... what else is there on ANY network Friday night??? Friday, much like Saturday, are DEAD nights for programming. Si, of course this re-hashed version of Home Improvement did okay. It was better than the following Dr. Ken ever will be, but I never thought it was a great show. With the girls getting older and moving out... there's little point to an "empty next" version. Tim Allen just ain't that funny.
