No Season 5 for the hospital drama.
October 13, 2017
Word is out this evening that NBC has cancelled The Night Shift after four seasons. The medical drama premiered in 2014 with a decent, but short, eight-episode summer stint. The network ended up sticking with the series and expanded its episode counts for the next three seasons, where it aired as a midseason and summer entry.
The Night Shift followed a war veteran and adrenaline junkie who works the overnight shift at San Antonio Memorial Hospital. He and his irreverent team of doctors always do what it takes to get their jobs done, but also know how to let off a little steam with a prank here and there.

NO! It was my favorite summer series! Why? You keep the shows that no one watches and canceled night shift? BIG MISTAKE

This gets canned but they bring back stupid shows like Blindspot, Modern Family, Survivor & Chicago Fire.

Suzanne, if you miss the actor who played Topher, he is now a regular cast member on Marvel's Inhumans on Friday nights. I'm sure he happily ducked out of The Night Shift to take that new role.
I liked TNS during its first season but could see where it lacked being as good as many of the other network medical shows. I always let out a silent groan whenever I saw that it was coming back again every summer. I'm too loyal to shows and stuck with it even though it did not thrill me to watch subsequent seasons. I am more than ready to see it end because I probably would have continued watching it and now will have an extra free hour of space every week on my DVR when summer comes around again. It had a nice long run and it is time to bid it a fond farewell.

This show was like the best parts of ER and the best parts of Grey's were removed and burned and the sappy crap that was left was squished into a malformed turd with marginal acting and poor, rehashed writing. I was surprised when it was renewed in the first place. I guess it's the Lifetime/Hallmark channel watchers that kept this alive for so long.

Loved this show but after the last season finale it looked like it was ending on a good note with everyone getting a new role in the show. Hopefully maybe Netflix will pick up the 5th season?

Nooooo! I always looked forward to this show. My favorite shows are those with a good balance of character and plot in this one fit perfectly into that genre. I really enjoyed this show and I am going to miss it very much. Shame on you NBC. Another great show lost.

I can't believe this show was cancelled!!! Me and my 14 year old daughter love it!!! I hate when they decide to cancel shows after the season finale and decide oh well that's good enough for a series finale!!! Sooo stupid. .... So sad to see such an awesome show canned!!!
