The animal thriller will not return next summer.
October 23, 2017
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled its summer thriller Zoo. The move comes one month after the conclusion of its third season, but was somewhat expected after its ratings performance during its most recent run.
The show premiered in 2015 with a successful debut that saw it rank as the summer's most-watched scripted series. While viewership tapered off in Season 2, it wasn't until this season that ratings fell to levels that put it in danger of not continuing. Many viewers reported tuning out this time around after the story took a jump into the future with uneven storytelling and off-putting hybrid animals.
Zoo follows the rise of a mysterious wave of violent animal attacks around the world against humans without any explanation. A young zoologist takes notice that the strange behavior is escalating to become more coordinated in nature, and he soon finds himself at the center of a race to piece together the bizarre pandemic endangering all mankind.
Zoo's cancellation bares similarities to that of Under the Dome, in that both are CBS shows that broke out with successful summer outings and ended up airing for three seasons and exactly 39 episodes.

Watched first half of first season... yuck. Didn't keep me interested. Sorry, guys. Can't blame them for this one.

When was it announced that Zoo was given 4th season? It wasn't. The producers of Zoo wanted to force CBS to give them one. They used the fans as a bargaining chip because they didn't care for them. Screw you Zoo for creating a cliffhanger knowing that you had no next season. It is a jerk move. Cliffhanger now is just code for "We the producers hate you and want to leave you hanging." I hate when producers do that. I thank the networks for canceling a show that had producers that were screwing over fans.

I watched the first two seasons. It started getting kind of dopey last year, but this year...I watched one episode and said NOPE that's it!

It was originally billed as the final season then suddenly as it unfolded it looked like another cliffhanger. Wish they make a movie so we can see how it ends.

This is a same network that started a Pilot for the New Star Trek series after a non-kneeling football game runs overtime, after dumb show 20/20 runs overtime then they play the 1st 2/3-3/4 of Star Trek and it is cut off because the cable expects shows to be played WHEN THEY ARE ADVERTISED to be played and video boxes are unable to adjust (unless you just happen to remember to add more shows on after that, my bad) and know a show has not yet finished recording. If you wanted to see the rest you had to provide your credit card for a week CBS 1 week trial 'free access'. I still have not seen the rest of these shows! Bye-Bye, Zoo - many will miss you!

No surprise here. The show was good Season 1, but it just kept getting more and more ridiculous and by Season 3 it was almost a comedy judging by how much hubby and I laughed at how silly it was becoming. Oh well. I need the room on my TiVo anyway.
