The new drama did not receive any extra episodes.
November 16, 2017
NBC released its mid-season schedule today and it's not good news for The Brave. The freshman military drama is nowhere to be found in the line-up, meaning the network did not order any additional episodes for the show's first season.
The hour-long series premiered in September and through eight episodes has been a decent performer in the 10:00pm time slot on Monday nights, though it regularly gets beaten by a substantial margin by The Good Doctor, which brings in roughly double the viewers, both overall and in the key adults 18-49 demographic.
The Brave takes place in the world of America's elite undercover military operations. In D.C., a team of analysts utilize highly-advanced surveillance technology from their headquarters, while out in the field a Special Ops squad of expertly-trained undercover specialists risk it all as they execute dangerous missions behind enemy lines in the name of freedom and saving the lives of innocent people.
What today's news means for now is that Season 1 of The Brave will end after its initial order of 13 episodes is up, with a final decision on a second season to come at a later date. As history goes, however, Season 2 does not appear likely at this point.
Taking The Brave's time slot in the New Year will be new crime drama Good Girls, which premieres on February 26.

Very disappointing....Agree with everyone here that The Brave is far better than Valor and Seal Team. Better storylines, better acting, better chemistry between stars, better potential future in my opinion. Damn

I agree with everyone who likes The Brave over Seal Team. I look forward to watching The Brave every week. Seal Team is clogging my dvr because my husband wants a show we can watch together. But The Brave has missions that are entertaining.

The Brave has it all over seal team. Don't know who makes decisions on renewing shows but I do know they have their head up there you know what

We watch all of them (valor, the brave, seal team, and swat). My better half likes valor and seal team (hunk actors) and i can stand them but much prefer the brave. not really better acting, just think the cast 'jells' better. valor is a soap opera, seal team cast act like they just met each other, and swat is just not good. but what do i know, i am not a kid and i don't live on the coast so who cares what i think.

I look forward to watching The Brave each week. I record The Good Doctor and watch it as well. To not renew a good show because you gave it a tough time slot against another good show is silly. That's your bad decision as a network and should not reflect on the show. The Brave is far better than Seal Team. The characters are more interesting and the story lines better. I don't know why it wouldn't get renewed. Perhaps the networks need to start listening to viewers and giving them what they want to watch. If your viewers are happy, your advertisers are happy. It's just good business.
