Production on Season 6 will not begin until next year.
December 4, 2017
Netflix confirmed today that the upcoming sixth and final season of House of Cards will be going ahead without any involvement from Kevin Spacey. The already-ordered season appeared to be in jeopardy after its star had allegations of sexual misconduct levied against him, resulting in a suspension of production in late October.
With Spacey now removed from the veteran political drama, the final eight-episode season will proceed with Robin Wright in the lead - but it may be some time before its release. Production is not set to begin until sometime in 2018, which could mean a premiere either late in the year or even in 2019.
Premiering in 2013, House of Cards was the streaming service's first-ever original series, going on to garner heaps of critical acclaim and accolades for its strong performances and engrossing storytelling. While the series will be ending on a somewhat sour note, the final episodes will at least be able to give some closure to fans who stuck around from the beginning.

Considering where we were left plot-wise this should hardly be a surprise especially given the dramatic appearance change of FU this past season. Gotta agree it IS getting tedious to watch, Netflix should've realized the BBC made the original short and sweet for a reason (as did the author)

This is just stupid. Why even bother with a final season that won't come out until who knows when?? And without Kevin Spacey!! I didn't even finish this past season, just totally lost interest.

Netflix was going to proceed with a sixth and final season well before the allegations of sexual misconduct regarding Kevin Spacey. All they're going to do is have Robin Wright be the sole attraction.
Meh. Good thing it was reduced to 8 episodes. It was becoming a chore to watch anyhow.

I see where this is going. First it was the show was cancelled, now it's the show is coming back without spacy. Next it will be spacy is back, when they think this whole thing has blown over.

It was always heading towards becoming the Claire show even before Spacey was rumoured to be touchy feely. Her character has no personality so I'll give it a miss.

No get Netflix but checked here for the gore a month ago. I hope there is no more individual need to insult each other on opinions of homosexuality.
