The Andrew Dice Clay comedy ends after two seasons.
January 30, 2018
It looks like Dice has rolled snake eyes. Showtime confirmed today that the semi-autobiographical comedy will not be returning for a third season. The show aired its final episode in October.
The news was already expected, as the cable network's CEO, David Nevins, said as much a few weeks ago during TCA. Aside from that, the show was plagued by low ratings and lackluster reviews, leaving many surprised at the show's initial renewal back in 2016.
Loosely-based on the life of Andrew Dice Clay, Dice featured the comedian playing a fictionalized version of himself attempting a comeback in the entertainment industry.

I wouldn't have watched it even if I got Showtime. Clay could have been funny like Kinnison could have been funny if their modus operandi was not to shock with extreme crudeness and vulgarity. If that's pleasing to you, then you must like Clay, Sam Kinison, Howard Stern, and the many recent movies (largely from the same group of people) that rely on crudeness.

Sing a song of sixpence,
A show full of Dice
Four and twenty black broads,
Baked out of their minds.
When their pies were opened
My *ick began to spring;
Wasn't that a tasty dish,
To sit upon my thing, OH!

Really?? I loved this show and love Dice. I think Plop is right--lack of advertising.

I liked it. Season 1 was a bit better. I would guess that Leggero has better things on her plate and Dice isn't really that big of a pull for those under 40.

The Plopster binged season 1 a few weeks ago and loved it. Had no idea the show existed till then. Maybe ratings were low from lack of advertising. Gotta figure anyone who was around in the 80s and 90s would have checked this out if they knew about it. Will miss it once I finish season 2.
