The crime drama will return to AMC and the BBC.
May 1, 2018
It is being reported that international crime drama McMafia will be returning for a second season. A co-production of the UK's BBC and AMC in the states, the series premiered earlier this year with an eight-episode run that fared well with audiences on both continents.
Inspired by Misha Glenny's best-selling book of the same name, McMafia follows the journey of Alex Godman, an English-raised son of Russian exiles with links to the mafia. Although he has spent his life trying to separate himself from his family's criminal associations, Alex is forced to confront his values to protect the ones he loves when his family's past returns to threaten him.
Another eight episodes have reportedly been ordered for Season 2 of McMafia, though a time frame for its return is not yet known.

I made a quick decision when I tried to watch the first episode - and based on comments here, it was a good one. I quit after five minutes.

I'm having a lot of trouble getting into this show. I hadn't given up completely so with this renewal, maybe I will try a little harder. (But should I really have to "try" when there are so many good shows on the air?)

Wow... I watched 3 episodes and was so bored I began to wonder why I was putting myself through such torture. I don't get it... but then, it's a UK produced show they are purchasing, not producing themselves. I also kind of think AMC knows Walking Dead is coming near an end in a season perhaps two... they need something to fill that Breaking Bad/Walking Dead gap... and Fear the Walking Dead hasn't been it.. but then again, they are killing off all the bad characters in Fear the Walking Dead this season it seems.

On my cable system, it started off at 10 PM, then was moved to 11 PM after a repeat of "The Terror". I'd figured the show was a goner.

What a boring show loads of mumbling. struggled to get to grips with the story. Will not bother with a 2nd series.
