No Season 2 for the new drama.

It is being reported that ABC has cancelled Deception after its first season. The mid-season drama got off to a decent start when it premiered in March, but its ratings quickly dwindled over the course of its run.
The hour-long series followed superstar magician Cameron Black, a master of illusion whose career ends up ruined because of a scandal. In order to keep practicing his art of deception and influence, he offers his services to the FBI as an unconventional way to help the government catch some of the world's most-elusive criminals.

LoL, who in their right mind thought this premise ever held any promise?! What next, a dishwasher helps the police solve crime using his encyclopedic knowledge of soaps...

I really enjoyed this show and am very angry that it got cancelled. Can another station pick it up? It ended on a cliffhanger and I really want to know what happens next! Stupid decision by ABC to cancel!

@David I agree with what you said. The only problem is that I find that I don't really care about the woman who set up his brother and broke up the act.
I do care VERY much about the rest of the storylines. The comparison to The Mentalist made some sense to me. I really liked Deception, but for me, it was the FBI cases that made the show.

Sad...too many filler episodes that had nothing to do with Cameron Black Progression towards clearing his twin brother’s name and getting the woman that framed them and killed his act and now it’ll be one of those things that never gets a conclusion

This show wasn't amazing, but it was decent. The tricks and stunts they did to fool the criminals were very clever. To me, this show tried too hard to be a Castle 2.0 but the cast on this show did not have the chemistry that Castle cast had. This show definitely wouldn't have lasted 5+ years but I thought ABC would've renewed it since they don't have anything good on Sunday nights right now.

I don't care if the plot was a little improbable. This show reminded me in some was of The Mentalist. And I loved that one as well. I am very disappointed of this cancellation. I felt there was great chemistry building between them and the foundation was being laid for some good traction. This makes me very sad!

SUPER disappointed; I thought there was great chemistry between cast members, and I don't believe seeing any of them before. The idea of tricks/magic isn't really new, but I thought the cases were pretty interesting. Not quite as brilliant as Mission Impossible from the 60's, but this was a show that the whole family could watch together!

one thing I have learned thru the years if you like a show on any of the major networks be prepared to have it canceled. abc, nbc. cbs what a bunch of weenies!!
