ABC Cancels 'Deception'

No Season 2 for the new drama.

It is being reported that ABC has cancelled Deception after its first season. The mid-season drama got off to a decent start when it premiered in March, but its ratings quickly dwindled over the course of its run.

The hour-long series followed superstar magician Cameron Black, a master of illusion whose career ends up ruined because of a scandal. In order to keep practicing his art of deception and influence, he offers his services to the FBI as an unconventional way to help the government catch some of the world's most-elusive criminals.

This was easily the best show on TV this season. I don't remember ever being more excited about a show to date. I looked forward to it each week. Please reverse this absolutely horrendous decision! I liked "Kevin Probably" I liked Designated Survivor. But rarely do I fight for a show. I am fighting for this one. Its truly different and something special. As far as I am concerned you really had a winner here. I could list plenty of other stuff that really should be cancelled. Don't make a mistake. Reverse this! Please!

I didn't really need the brother in jail storyline, but obviously it was necessary to justify Cameron working with the FBI. The writers did a pretty decent job of writing cases that actually needed a magician.

I'd never heard of the lead actor, and after the pilot I wasn't hopeful. Deception surprised me and was kind of cute. I'm still not surprised it got cancelled though.

The front half of the season was awkward and contrived, but we watched it anyway. Then the mid-season two-parter suddenly lit up! Where, why and what I don't know, but the plot and the cast suddenly sparkled. But, too late I guess.

Yes it could be a good show for the kids, but this adult watched the first episode and forgot about it.

What a shame we really enjoyed watching this show with our 10 year old son. Hard to find things to watch as a family anymore.

Fun stupid show but we deserve better.
Watched first few episodes but gimmick quickly wore off.

Forget abc almost nothing I watch and actually really like gets a second season.
