The office comedy will not return for Season 3.

There is some not-so-great news today for NBC comedy Great News. The network has opted to cancel the series after two seasons. The word comes as the network is making some last minute decisions on its lineup for the 2018-2019 season.
Executive-produced by Tina Fey, Great News follows an up-and-coming news producer who learns that her overbearing mother has decided to rejoin the workforce as an intern at her TV station. Though not overly excited about this turn events, there ends up being some benefits to having her biggest supporter by her side.
The half-hour series premiered in 2017 as a mid-season entry with a 10-episode run in April and May. While critics enjoyed the show, ratings were mostly modest. The network decided to move the show to its regular fall schedule this season, and while its early ratings weren't bad, audience numbers dwindled over the second-half of its run.

This is sad news! I have to admit the first couple episodes were not that good, the mom character was way too over the top, but as time went on it found it groove and was hilarious. Fingers crossed Netflix picks it up since Tina's Kimmy will be over soon.

When I look at the DVR there are shows I watch because they're there and then there are show I watch because I want to see them.
Great News was in the second category. I've been a fan of Andrea Martin for over 30 years. She was over the top in Great News, but still likable.
I also like Briga Heelan a lot. She single handedly carried Undateable (until they dumped her for no good reason) and Ground Floor.
I hope Ms. Heelan gets a new show worthy of her talents.

While I'm saddened by this show's departure, I felt the writers gave it a proper ending. Hopefully, the cast of "Great News" can find themselves other opportunities.

Great News was a good show, it will be miss. They did give the show a ending. They tied all loose ends. Which is nice for a change

The only reason why this show got renewed for a second season was out of respect for Tina Fay. i usually watch anything produced by her but this was a no no for me from the get go.

Trial & Error is the last of my original comedies left to watch.
