No Season 2 for the new comedy.
May 12, 2018
It looks like 9JKL is officially done at CBS. The cancellation is no real surprise, as the comedy was considered a long-shot for renewal when back in November the network added just three episodes to its original order.
The half-hour series got off to a decent start ratings-wise after its premiere last October despite negative reviews from critics. But its momentum slowed considerably over the course of its run, resulting in CBS hesitating to give it a full-season pickup.
9JKL starred Mark Feuerstein - perhaps best known for his lead role in USA Network's Royal Pains - as Josh Roberts, a recently-divorced actor who returns home to regroup between projects. Unfortunately the apartment he ends up living in has him stuck between his parents on one side and his competitive brother and sister-in-law on the other. With Josh's family being a little too close for comfort, he realizes that personal boundaries must be established.

I watched it, it was fine but not must watch TV, I expected this and fine with the decision but would have continued watching if had been renewed, there were better and worse sitcoms airing.

I watch the first episode of pretty much every show that comes out to give them all a shot. I don't bash every show on here that I hate, but I am shocked that there are so few bad reviews of 9JKL. I have had two root canals. I would have preferred a third over watching the first episode. Good riddance, I say.

Really?!?! I loved this show! Why do all the good ones get cancelled?

Really? A cute, funny show.. Was it lack of stats or lack of companies wanting to advertise? What really is the basis for cancelling these shows that barely get out of the gate. Shame on you

I thought this show was funny....but I'm really not surprised it got canceled. Seemed like they were pinning themselves into a corner.

And.. yep... Ginger Gonzaga appeared on this show. I like her. Think she's a pretty good actress and she's attractive, but she's essentially "Typhoid Mary" to sitcoms. When you see her, you know the show's not going to be around long.

I enjoyed the show I think one of the major problems was the name of the show. It didn’t draw people in my had to watch the show to understand it.

Saw that coming 10 minutes into the pilot... Network Execs are so dumb.

Loved Mark Feuerstein in much of his other work (Good Morning Miami, his short run on The West Wing, and of course Royal Pains) but just didn't like this show. After two and 1/2 episodes I was out.
